Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Our school already has a counsellor. Can you still help?
Of course.
Even if your school has a counselor, our independent counseling services provide several additional benefits.
• Personalized Attention – School counselors manage many students, so their time is limited. We provide one-on-one, in-depth guidance tailored to your child’s strengths, interests, and goals.
• Long-Term Strategy – We focus on profile-building over multiple years, ensuring that extracurriculars, leadership experiences, and academics align with college goals.
• Deeper US Admissions Expertise – Many school counselors provide general college advice, while we specialize in competitive US admissions, including Ivy League and top-tier universities.
• Extensive Essay & Application Support – We work closely with students on multiple drafts of their college essays, refining their storytelling and ensuring their application stands out.
• Flexibility & Availability – Unlike school counselors who operate during school hours, we provide flexible support, including evenings and weekends.
• Beyond Applications – We assist with research projects, internships, Olympiads, summer programs, and other activities that strengthen college applications.
• Parent Involvement – We keep parents updated on progress, guide them through the admissions process, and help with financial aid and scholarship options.
While school counselors play an important role, our independent counseling offers additional depth, flexibility, and long-term strategy to maximize the student’s college admission success.
School counselors do their best, but admissions is highly competitive. Our role is to ensure your child builds the strongest possible profile—years before they apply—so that they have the best shot at their dream universities.

Should a Class 9 Student Consider APs?
For most students, Class 9 is too early to take AP exams. Instead, focus on:
• Strong academics and Olympiads (especially in Math and Science if the goal is STEM).
• Developing extracurricular activities (debate, research projects, leadership roles, coding, writing, etc.).
• Building foundational skills (e.g., improving critical thinking, writing, or public speaking).
Only in rare cases should a Class 9 student take a lighter AP like AP Psychology or AP Environmental Science if they are exceptionally prepared.
